The Fiery Furnaces WEBSITE FOR THE FIERY FURNACES |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The other male/female garage-y and folk-y and freak-y duo (although these two really are bro and sis and they're not THAT garage), The Fiery Furnaces mix wah-wah guitars with piano and plenty of the Blues to create a sound completely unlike that 'other' duo.
Perhaps the group's heavy-on-the-blues sound is a result of their Chicago roots. After all, everyone who's seen "Adventures in Babysitting" knows that the Blues are huge in Chicago. Remember when Elizabeth Shue and company were chased by those bad guys and ended up on stage at that Blues place and were commanded, "No one leaves this place without singing the Blues." Of course you remember. How could you forget? Anyway, The Fiery Furnaces live in Brooklyn now and have mixed it up on stage with the likes of The Kills, French Kicks, Spoon and hundreds of other bands. They rock a strange kind of blues. And Elizabeth Shue can baby-sit me anytime. |
